A very sweet Kolkata made harmonium by a maker, Monoj Kumar Sardar. Bass - Male ML Palitana reeds (the same ones used in good quality scale changers) Sweet and mellow tone, Multi-fold bellows, 9 stops with 5 drones, Full size 3 1/2 Octave.  Made in Teak wood.

 Technical specification:

  • Double brass Palitana reed system, Bass + Male set
  • C2 to F5 keyboard, 42 full size keys.
  • Drones: 4 (G#-Bb-C#-D#-F)
  • Coupler: No
  • Bellows: Multifold
  • Seasoned teakwood cabinet
  • 27 lbs (12.2 kg) total weight
  • 24.5" x 16" x 8" (closed) & 24.5" x 16" x 11" (open)  dimensions

An important note for Monoj Instruments: Finishes are made using shellac and so are highly sensitive to heat and impressions, our policy on damage does not apply to minor finish problems.  An Indian instrument rarely leaves the hands of his maker without a slight blemish or 'birth mark'.

    fantastic value

Posted by Carolyn from Nova Scotia on 30th Jul 2019

Hello Mickey, Thank you for your message. I’m very happy with my new harmonium! It arrived in perfect condition, and plays and sounds beautiful. One would never know it had any surface imperfections; the colour is lovely; and the sturdy case is great- I wasn’t expecting that! This is a lovely instrument, and a fantastic value for the price. Thank you very much for your help and service.

    Great Calcutta harmonium

Posted by Ritu from Toronto on 2nd Aug 2016

I didn't love this harmonium immediately because I fell in love with the sound of a cheaper North Indian model, but bought this one because of the workmanship and the look. It is beautiful to look at and to play. After playing it a little, I'm totally in love with it!

fine service and for the fine instrument.

Thank you, for your fine service and for the fine instrument. The harmonium arrived on Dec 23, the day I left for 2 weeks vacation. I had a neighbor receive the package. Thus I have only had the instrument for about a week, but to be sure, it is a very nice instrument. I will certainly send you some business. Many Thanks. Andriko
