Pro-quality Bayan heads (the same good quality that we use on our Varanasi tabla sets). These heads tend to have a nice thick syahis (gob) and soft/tender chat. Good quality skins, very durable. Be certain to measure the diameter of the wooden barrel (for best results, remove the old head) and not the diameter of the entire tabla head.

Adequate Bayan Head
I wanted to order the Mumbai Professional head for a bayan, but they were out of them. I had to wet the inner ring and put my bayan on top of it with 20 pounds of weight to correct how areas of the edge had folded inward. I would rate these heads as an average quality head. It sounds pretty good and the size was perfect.
