Used for Naal, Dholak, Bhangra Dhol and any other Indian drum that requires the 'Gob' on the inner surface of the skin. This is a special mixture of tar, clay and sand. Sold in packages of approximately 25 grams, enough for 1 drum head.

It works!

It comes with straight-forward instructions on applying the masala. The masala itself is easy to work with and sticks nicely to the skin.

There is no substitute.

As I say above, there is no substitute for the correct product in a given application. This is the second time I have ordered/used this product, and I expect the same good results as before.

On time however no instructions on how to use

Product is good however it came with no instructions on how to apply the Dholak Masala. Since Kala Kendar is an expert in Indian Musical instruments it would have helped if they have included a short note on how to apply it and any recommendations for good dolak sound

Great Masala

I'm not sure exactly about what's in the mixture, but when i replaced my Naal's Masala with this one, it gave a very nice sound. Definitely better than the old masala. Not to mention that the colour is brown and not black like the normal one!
