Bayan, Banaras/Varanasi Traditional

A 3.50 kg natural copper bayan, from one of our select Banaras makers. This is preferred maker by many tabla artists for his quality workmanship, A great value drum!  This bayan has been setup the traditional Banaras way, with cord tension tuning, for natural sound and perfect balance.  All of our Banaras bayans are not lacquer coated to provide a natural full sound; as with all copper, the metal can naturally oxide; this has no adverse effect on the tone or sound of the instrument.
