    Dayan Shell 5.75"

Posted by corey from Ohio on 1st Apr 2015

I had ordered a Tabla set about 2 years ago from another website that was advertised as a professional set. About a month ago I took it out to play and the dayan shell had split from top to bottom on one side. Hardly the markings of a well crafted professional drum. Luckily I found this website that had used and what appears to be well seasoned shells for sale. I re-skinned the new shell and it sounds good again. Reasonable price and good turn around time.

Solid hardwood shell with great sound

Posted by Deepak from Australia on 16th Jan 2015

This is my first ever purchase of a Dayan shell sized 5.50 inches in my life. It is a great addition to all my tabla sets. I had a skin sized 5.50 inches sitting with me for a couple of years, fitted it on the shell and tuned it to D# which the sound came out great because of the heaviness of the wood. The wood quality is great and I'm very pleased with the purchase. Thanks Mickey for all the info I needed regarding the shell. Regards Deepak

    Very Nice 5.875" Dayan Shell

Posted by Derek on 1st Nov 2014

I'm quite happy with this 5 & 7/8" dayan shell. I already have 3 other dayans measuring 5.25, 5.375, and 5.5" so this is a nice addition to my collection. I put a 6" puri on it an it plays an nice sounding A (in addition to a B, C, and D).
