The popularity of RA Sitarmaker continues, we've just received these new custom made 'Black' sitars. Made to the exact same specifications of Ustad Shahid Parvez's instrument. The construction of Miraj made sitars we feel are made exceptionally well, (specifically those created for Gayaki Style sitars) compared to those made in other regions of India. Very close attention was given in the construction of these fine sitars (the maker took almost six weeks to build 2 pieces) These sitars feature everything from well seasoned mahogany for the dandi, oversized selected gourds for the tabli, precision fitting pegs that rarely slip & go out of tune, (no need for chalk on these sitars!) and so on. The nice thick frets are evenly balanced and uniform in shape, so 7 note meends are easily achieved. This sitar comes complete with a good quality padded gig bag, extra strings & mizrabs.
