A heavy hand-hammered bayan (3.5 kgs plus!) along with the finest quality sheasham wood and a head crafted by one of the best makers in Calcutta. Take close attention to detail of the closely knit gajra (braiding) on the head, for a tight & clear sound. Calcutta heads are thinner than Bombay heads, so at their best they have a bell-like tone and long sustain. Tabla rings and covers are included in this package.
