This full size Tanpura is made from a seasoned gourd that is cut horizontally rather than vertically, as seen on traditional tanpuras and sitars. The shape offers a full size sound board for optimum resonance but also provides a very compact side profile. When held vertically, there is easy access to the strings and it rests in the lap very securely. The gourds shallow profile reduces the risk of accidental impact when being moved and allows easier storage. Select tunwood is used for the sound board and neck. The pegs are color matched and the peg shafts are sanded for a secure non slip fit. The bridge is made from the finest materials available for best tone and durability. Solid joints and an even finish coat create a lovely instrument that will feel and sound wonderful. This instrument includes a padded gig bag & an extra set of strings.
